State Releases Results of DOGE Investigation into Pensacola

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The results of the state's DOGE investigation into the city of Pensacola are out -- and the state is citing two large, and so-called wasteful expenditures in their report. The first is money spent on the management company that oversees the Saenger Theatre. The state says $150-thousand dollars per year are spent on a management company that "brings drag shows to the city's Saenger Theatre." The drag show has been a controversial topic in recent weeks -- it's planned for this December. Residents both for and against the event have packed city-council meetings to voice their opinions. The second expense cited in the report is a $300K equity-focused strategic plan and survey.
