Sharks Bites Boy in Florida Keys

(Key West, FL) -- A child is hurt after getting bitten by a shark in Monroe County. The sheriff's office says the eight-year-old boy was bitten on the leg while snorkeling yesterday afternoon at Horseshoe Reef off Key Largo. A dive company helped him get to a marina where he was airlifted to a hospital in Miami for surgery. There's no word on his condition. The boy was spearfishing with his father and another sibling, but no one else was hurt.
