SANTA ROSA PLASTIC SURGEON ARRESTED FOR DEATH OF WIFE DURING SURGERY

Officials in Santa Rosa County say the plastic surgeon who was performing surgery on his wife when she went into cardiac arrest and ultimately died last November has been arrested on a felony homicide charge. 41-year-old Dr. Ben Brown of Restore Plastic Surgery was arrested this morning -- he's charged with manslaughter by culpable negligence. Deputies say he's being held at the Santa Rosa County jail pending his initial appearance in court. A report by the Florida Health Department recently said Brown had waited to call 911 after his wife became unresponsive, and said he waited at least 10 to 20 minutes before beginning CPR. The death of Hillary Brown is still being investigated by the District One Medical Examiner's Office. The results of an autopsy are still pending in the case. A planned press conference for this afternoon regarding this arrest has been canceled.
