Santa Rosa County Gets $25K Grant for Cat Trap-Neuter-Return Program

The Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter has secured a $25,000 grant from Florida Animal Friend to expand its Trap-Neuter-Return program, according to county officials.

The funding will help the shelter continue its efforts to manage the feral cat population in the county through humane methods. The Trap-Neuter-Return program catches stray and feral cats, has them spayed or neutered, and returns them to their original locations, reducing reproduction and preventing the need for euthanasia.

This grant represents a significant boost to the shelter's animal welfare initiatives in Santa Rosa County.
