Salvation Army Bell Ringer Arrested After Chaotic Publix Incident

Martin County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Salvation Army bell ringer in Martin County is accused of spreading more than holiday cheer -- he's accused of getting drunk on the job and attempting to give a store manager a holiday beatdown with the famous red kettle. Officials say 63-year-old Steven Pavlik was taking donations outside a Publix when he apparently had a bit too much eggnog and ended up drunk. He was reportedly getting aggressive with customers. According to the report, that's when the store manager tried to step in. Deputies say Pavlik tried to attack the manager with the donation kettle, but luckily the manager wasn't hurt. Officials say Pavlik fled the scene and was later arrested at his home. He faces charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
