REPRESENTITIVE SALZMAN TARGETS DESANTIS'S POWER OVER UNIVERSITY TRUSTEES

The criticism comes as state Rep. Michelle Salzman filed a bill to limit the governor's power to appoint education officials. The governor's calling Salzman's bill the "Make Universities Woke Again" Act. It aims to set term limits for university boards of trustees and prevent the governor from discussing or promoting a vacancy. The issue stems from the appointment of Scott Yenor as University of West Florida board chairman.
