Puerto Rico Dem Chair Campaigns in Orlando This Weekend

The chairman of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico will be in the Orlando area Saturday and Sunday campaigning alongside Florida Democratic candidates and officials, according to a media advisory from the Florida Democratic Party.
Luis Dávila Pernas, who also serves as a political analyst for Telemundo Puerto Rico and sits on the Democratic National Committee's Rules and Bylaws Committee, will participate in canvassing efforts and hold interviews in both English and Spanish. His visit comes as Democrats seek to mobilize Puerto Rican voters in Florida ahead of November's elections.
Dávila Pernas will appear with U.S. Rep. Darren Soto, former Miami Mayor David Jolly, Annette Taddeo (who is running for Chief Financial Officer), and Samuel Vilchez Santiago (a candidate for House District 43). Saturday's events include a 10-11 a.m. canvass in Kissimmee followed by an afternoon open to media interviews. On Sunday morning, he'll attend a canvass kickoff at Tainos Bakery in Orlando.
The visit underscores Democratic efforts to engage Puerto Rican communities in Florida, which represent a significant voting bloc in the state. Organizers say Dávila Pernas will discuss the issues driving Puerto Rican voters and how federal policy affects families both in Florida and on the island.
