POSSIBLE TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT

The National Hurricane Center is watching a low that is currently off the east coast in the Atlantic for tropical development. This development is possible after the low moves west, across the Florida Peninsula and into the Gulf. As the low enters the warm Gulf, gradual tropical development is expected. This development will all depend in how far south the low emerges in the Gulf. If it moves more north, there would be more land interaction and sheer which would lead to limited development. The forecast models are still split, with a majority keeping the system weak. Regardless of development, this system is expected to bring heavy rains with it to a portion of the Gulf Coast. If it does gain strength, the next name is Dexter.
