POARCH CREEK INDIAN POW WOW COMING UP NEXT WEEK -- David Wayne
Atmore, AL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A popular Native American Tradition in Atmore is getting closer -- the Poarch Band of Creek Indians will be celebrating their traditional PowWow in Atmore over Thanksgiving, November 23rd and 24th. It's a two-day celebration highlighting the tribe's cultural heritage. The event will feature the always popular dance competitions -- which the tribe says will feature a variety of dance styles and age categories, and highlight authentic Native American regalia. They'll also crown the Porach Creek Indian Princesses who will serve as ambassadors for the Tribe throughout the year. The event will be held in Atmore starting at 10 AM each day. Admission is $15 for both days or $10 for one day.
