Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Pensacola's red light cameras generated more than 1.1 million dollars in their first five months of operation. Acting Police Chief Kristin Brown gave the first annual report Thursday night, showing nearly 30-thousand red light violations were captured. The city issued more than 14-thousand tickets and collected 158 dollar fines from about 10-thousand drivers. The city's share was just over 240-thousand dollars. The cameras are already approved for another year, though some residents and city council members have concerns about their effectiveness and how the money is being spent.
