Pensacola Mardi Gras Launches Second Line Tuesdays on Palafox Street

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Pensacola Mardi Gras is launching Second Line Tuesdays on Palafox Street starting tonight. The celebration begins at five p.m. outside Old Hickory Whiskey Bar with the procession stepping off at five-thirty p.m. The New Orleans Ramblers brass band will lead authentic New Orleans music and movement down Palafox Street. The loop concludes back at Old Hickory where the band plays for thirty minutes as crowds disperse to nearby restaurants and businesses. The experience lasts about an hour and a half. Leading krewes include Daisy Dukes, Priscus, Cheers and Blues. Participants can walk the full loop, join as it passes or simply watch from the sidewalk. Second Line Tuesdays continue through February tenth and are free and open to the public.
