Pensacola Man Jailed for Robbing Whataburger Drive-Thru

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Pensacola man is accused of robbing a local Whataburger drive-thru. Pensacola Police recently arrested 36-year-old Alvis Collins, he's accused of robbing the restaurant on East Burgess Road earlier this month. Police say he ordered a drink in the drive-thru and when he got to the window pointed a gun at the cashier. He reportedly apologized, but demanded the money. Collins reportedly got $100 from the register and a drink. Officers found the vehicle -- with the Whataburger cup still inside at a local apartment complex. PPD stopped Collins after he left the apartments. They found the a handgun that matched the description of the one used at the apartment. Collins is being held without bond at the Escambia County jail.
