Pensacola Humane Society marks 20 years of Barktoberfest this month

The Pensacola Humane Society is gearing up for the 20th anniversary of Barktoberfest, the annual fundraiser bringing dog lovers and families together to support shelter animals. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, at Seville Square and Fountain Park in downtown Pensacola.
Visitors can expect vendor booths, dog contests, training demonstrations, food trucks, and beverage options throughout the day. The event doubles as a community awareness push for homeless animals while raising funds to help the Humane Society's shelter dogs and cats find permanent homes.
"Barktoberfest is a chance for people to enjoy a day with their dogs while helping animals that are still waiting for a home," said Mary McClellan, vice president of development for Pensacola Humane Society. The organization is actively recruiting sponsors, vendors, and volunteers for the event.
Those interested in sponsoring, vending, or volunteering can find details at pensacolahumane.org/Barktoberfest or contact the organization at barktoberfest@pensacolahumane.org or 850.748.2471.
