Pensacola Homeless Shelter Expands to 90 Beds After $1.8 Million Renovation

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Pensacola homeless shelter has nearly doubled its capacity after a major renovation. Bright Bridge Ministries held a grand opening Tuesday for its new South Wing, expanding from 50 to 90 beds for men. The faith-based nonprofit received 1-and-a-half million dollars in local, state, and federal grant funding for the project. Executive Director Pastor Ashlee Mosley Brown says out of 265 people who stayed there last year, 76 moved into stable housing and 91 found jobs. A new wellness room donated by the YMCA was also added.
