Pensacola High School Ranks Top 25% of JM Challenge Index

PENSACOLA HIGH SCHOOL PLACES IN TOP 300 OF JM RANKING INDEX -- David Wayne

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A big recognition for Pensacola High School -- they've been ranked in the top 25% for the Jay Mathews Challenge Index. The index is a ranking system for high schools that began in 1998 and is the oldest high school ranking system in the country. PHS is the only school in Northwest Florida to be ranked in the top 300 of the more than 1-thousand schools ranked by the index. Escambia Public Schools says a significant portion of the credit for the ranking goes to the school's International Baccalaureate Diploma Program -- that program is hosting an open house this Saturday at 10 AM.
