PENSACOLA FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVING SAFE INFANT SLEEP TRAINING

This week, Pensacola Firefighters are being trained to identify unsafe sleep environments for infants when they respond to calls. They'll be the first fire department in Northwest Florida to receive the Direct On Scene Education training. Allison Anderson with Escambia Healthy Start Coalition says our area has one of the highest rates of infant deaths in the state, especially so in communities of color. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Captain James Carroll is in town conducting the training.
