Pensacola Chamber Urges Federal Action on Military Training, Offshore Drilling

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce is calling on federal leaders to expand military training locally while keeping oil rigs out of Florida waters. The chamber sent letters to Washington supporting NAS Pensacola as the site for a new Coast Guard training center. A separate letter to the Bureau of Ocean Management opposes any expansion of offshore drilling in the eastern Gulf. The chamber cited the lasting economic damage from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill and says drilling could also interfere with military operations.
