Pensacola, FL (PNJ) -- Pensacola's plan to hire Bayou District Consulting for Baptist Hospital redevelopment could get another chance. The PNJ reports that multiple City Council members want to bring Bayou District back for reconsideration. The contract was rejected earlier this month after large public opposition over fears of gentrification and displacement. However, some council members tell the PNJ they're open to revisiting the proposal. The decision could come down to Councilman Delarian Wiggins -- a key voice in the opposition and the councilman representing the district affected by the Baptist project -- he flipped from supporting the contract to voting against it earlier this month.
