Panhandle Sees Lowest Gas Prices in Florida for Holiday Travel Rush

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- If you're planning to drive for Thanksgiving, here's what you need to know about gas prices. According to Triple-A's latest weekly survey, gas prices across Florida have jumped nearly 20 cents in the past week. The statewide average is now three-dollars and ten cents a gallon for regular unleaded. In our area, you'll find some of the lowest prices in the state. Escambia County is averaging two-dollars and 72 cents a gallon, while Santa Rosa County is slightly cheaper at two-dollars and 70 cents. Looking towards Alabama Baldwin County is showing prices around 2-70, and Mobile County comes in around 2-65. The Panhandle overall has the best prices in Florida, while the highest prices are down south in the West Palm Beach and Boca Raton area.
