Pace Businessman Asks County to Use Land for Pace High Fireworks

Pace, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Local businessman Steve Gregory may have found a workaround to continue the tradition of fireworks at Pace High School football games. He's asking Santa Rosa County for permission to shoot the fireworks off from an open area near the Pace Library. This comes after the Santa Rosa County School District decided to ban the long-running tradition due to insurance liability risks. Gregory asked the school board to reconsider at last week's board meeting, and he met with the district's risk management director -- although it appears so far there has been no resolution. The Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners will discuss the land use request by Gregory at Thursday's meeting.
