One Dead, One Arrested Following Fatal Head-on Crash

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- One man is dead and another in jail after a crash on 98 near the Perdido Bay Bridge. The Florida Highway Patrol says a 55-year-old man had just entered Escambia County when another vehicle drifted across the road and into his lane near Halcyon Circle. The vehicles crashed head-on. The victim died at the scene. Troopers say they arrested the driver on DUI manslaughter charges, he's been identified as 20-year-old Wyatt Cole Watson. An investigation into the crash continues -- the road was closed until early this morning and we're still seeing slowdowns in the area.
