North Escambia Schools Mark Dolly Day With Pink Shirts, Kindness Celebration

Byrneville Elementary and Ransom Middle School joined schools across the country Friday in celebrating Dolly Day, an annual tribute to the life and legacy of country music icon Dolly Parton.

The observance, held each September 25—a date chosen as a play on Parton's famous "9 to 5" song—focuses on honoring her contributions to music and her lifelong commitment to kindness and compassion. Teachers and staff at both North Escambia schools showed their support by wearing pink shirts throughout the day.

Dolly Day has become a way for schools nationwide to celebrate not just Parton's musical achievements but also the values of generosity and community service she's championed throughout her career.
