New USPS Squirrels & Chipmunks Stamps Now Available at Florida Post Offices

The U.S. Postal Service has released a new set of Forever stamps featuring winter wildlife, now available at post offices across Northern Florida including Jacksonville, Gainesville, Panama City, and Tallahassee. The four-stamp booklet showcases the eastern chipmunk, eastern gray squirrel, and American red squirrel in snowy settings, with each stamp photographed in charming close-up detail.

The stamps debuted this week at the Milcopex stamp show in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The 20-stamp booklet features existing photographs by wildlife photographers Fiona M. Donnelly, Matt Prosser, Martha M. Stewart, and Ross Taylor, arranged by USPS art director Derry Noyes. The designs capture the animals in quiet moments—a chipmunk with paws to its mouth, a squirrel mid-chew, and another chipmunk with cheeks bulging with food.

Noyes said the stamps celebrate familiar creatures often overlooked in everyday life. "There's something about their expressions," she explained. "We see squirrels and chipmunks all the time, but not always up close like this. The stamps let us pause and take in their little faces." She noted these are among the first USPS stamps to focus specifically on these small winter survivors, which hoard food, build insulated nests, and rest through the coldest months.

The Squirrels & Chipmunks in Snow stamps are Forever stamps, meaning they'll always equal the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price, regardless of future rate increases.
