Forecasters are keeping an eye on a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic that could develop later this week. The system is trailing Hurricane Erin, which is expected to curve away from the U.S. East Coast. The National Hurricane Center says conditions are favorable for gradual development, with a 50 percent chance of formation over the next seven days. The wave is moving west at 20 miles-per-hour and could approach the Leeward Islands by the weekend.
