NEW PARKING GARAGE FOR PENSACOLA

Pensacola FL (WEAR) The city of Pensacola wants to put a parking garage on its property near the downtown ferry terminal. Mayor D.C. Reeves says this project could cost roughly $15 million. He says parking revenue is going to fund a majority of this. The mayor tells WEAR News there wasn’t enough parking revenue to reinvest into the city. He says now that the parking rates have gone up, there's enough money to make this project a reality. The money made from the garage will be used for maintenance, and the city is looking at possibly adding retail space. Reeves says the garage could have about 500 parking spaces.
