Construction is officially underway on The Romero, a new luxury apartment complex in downtown Pensacola, featuring 282 units with various floor plans. Developed by Crest Residential, the project will include top-notch amenities like a saltwater pool and pickleball courts, with pre-leasing set to begin in spring 2026. The Romero will be on the western half of the former ECUA downtown sewage treatment property, once known as "Old Stinky," This marks the first development to kick off under the West Main Master Plan, revitalizing a long-vacant piece of real estate.
