Navy Diver Named Naval Education and Training Command Sailor of the Year at NAS Pensacola

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Naval Education and Training Command has named Navy Diver 1st Class Mark Powell its Fiscal Year 2025 Sailor of the Year. Powell, assigned to the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center, was recognized at a ceremony at the National Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola last week. He was selected for his leadership in high-risk diver training operations, mentoring Sailors, and supporting fleet readiness. Rear Admiral Greg Huffman presented the award following a competitive week of evaluations and interviews among finalists from across the NETC enterprise.
