A Milton man is accused of financially exploiting an elderly man he had Power of Attorney over. The State Attorney General's office says 37-year-old Ira Roberts is charged with 2nd-degree felony Exploitation of an Elderly Person. Investigators say the victim is an 82-year-old Escambia County resident. Roberts allegedly transferred over $40,000 to his own account between June of 2021 and December of 2022. The attorney general's Medicaid Fraud Control unit says he spent about $17,000 of that money on personal bills and purchases.
