Man Shot and Killed by Deputies Outside Mississippi Courthouse After Apparent Bomb Attempt

Pascagoula, MS -- In Mississippi, a man is dead after being shot by deputies outside the Jackson County Courthouse in Pascagoula on Thursday. Investigators say the man drove his vehicle through a fence near the courthouse and parked next to a large propane tank, then allegedly tried to ignite propane tanks in his vehicle in an apparent attempt to cause an explosion. When officers arrived he led them on a short foot chase before an exchange of gunfire. No officers or bystanders were injured. The FBI and ATF are assisting in the investigation. The suspect's identity has not been released.
