MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER JUMPING OFF PENSACOLA BAY BRIDGE

A 49-year-old man is hospitalized after jumping off the Pensacola Bay Bridge earlier this morning. Gulf Breeze Police say officers responded to Mariners Landing after receiving a report that a 49-year-old man had jumped off the bridge. After approximately 30 minutes in the water, the man was recovered by a boater and brought to shore for medical care. Police report that the man was complaining of back and rib pain and had lacerations on his knees, hands and mouth. He was trauma alerted and transported to Sacred Heart Hospital.
