A man was arrested early yesterday (Thursday) morning after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing into a concrete median. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle accident occurred just before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Mobile Highway and Green Street. Witnesses reported seeing three men in a white Toyota Tacoma that crashed into the median, but fled the scene shortly after the impact. Officers later found the truck parked in a U-Haul lot, where the driver, identified as 45-year-old Bradley Roland Berendsen, was discovered asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to a local emergency room for minor injuries and subsequently arrested. Berendsen faces multiple charges, including DUI, hit and run, and an open container violation. His passengers will not face any charges.
