Injured Eagle Taken to Northwest Florida Wildlife Sanctuary

COUNTY RESCUES INJURED BALD EAGLE -- David Wayne

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- County animal welfare officers were called to rescue an injured bald eagle this week. Officers say the bird hit a window at a home on Pinewood Lane. Initially, residents reported the incident as an injured hawk. Responding officers took the bird to the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida for veterinary care, and they are reportedly hoping to rehab it. The eagle is believed to be a juvenile female. There's no word on the eagle's current condition, but wildlife officers said it appeared more alert after being taken to the sanctuary.
