Hot, Dry Start to Week; Weekend Rain Expected in NW Florida

The Pensacola area is bracing for a hot, dry stretch early this week before moisture returns by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service forecast for North Escambia County.

Monday will be sunny with highs near 92 degrees and calm winds, with overnight lows settling around 73. Tuesday looks even hotter, with highs climbing to 93 and heat index values climbing as high as 106 degrees. Winds will remain light, becoming easterly at around 5 mph in the afternoon.

The mostly clear conditions are expected to persist into Tuesday night. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions during the hottest part of the day, especially with heat index values approaching dangerous levels midweek.

Rain chances are forecast to rebound by the weekend, which could provide some relief from the intense heat and dry conditions expected early in the week.
