HEY THAT ISN'T TRISTAN DE LUNA

022825 (PNJ) Last week, the Pensacola Architectural Review Board approved the installation of a 36-foot-tall mural on the side of the Adams Homes Building on West Garden Street. The largest image on the proposed mural was assumed to be Tristan DeLuna. Nope, it turns out to be Luis De Velasco. At some point, the image of De Velasco got mixed up with De Luna's. The image of De Velasco is a 1549 portrait. John Worth, a University of West Florida professor of anthropology, confirms there are no historical portraits of Tristan De Luna.
