Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A stretch of West Bogia Road in north Escambia County could be closed for weeks after Sunday's torrential rain washed away part of the roadway near Highway 29. According to North-Escambia, nearly six inches of rain fell in the McDavid area in just three hours, flooding Highway 29 for miles and forcing southbound traffic onto alternate routes. The collapse also cut water service for some Central Water Works customers, though officials say service has been largely restored. No injuries were reported.
