Gulf Shores Police Working to Identify Remains in Washed Ashore Urn

Gulf Shores, AL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Police in Gulf Shores are continuing an investigation after an urn washed ashore on the beach last week. They're trying to get the remains back to a loved one. Investigators reportedly discovererd an ID tag inside using an X-Ray machine, and they they then "respectfully" opened the urn. Police say the Id tag was weathered, but did provide new leads.

Officials say the urn had likely been placed in the Gulf as a last wish -- but whether by divine intervention or the departeds desire to stay close it found it's way back to shore. They've posted photos of the urn on their Facebook page.
