Gulf Breeze, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Gulf Breeze Police arrested two 19-year-old men, Hayden Wallace and Noah Young, for racing on Highway 98 last week, marking the third arrests in our area under Florida's new "Super Speeder" law.
"We're very happy with the new law," Police chief Rick Hawthorne tells WEAR News. "We're hoping that people really take it seriously...because it helps that person lose their driver's license quicker."
Both teens were clocked at 100 mph in a 45-mph zone and charged with racing and exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 mph.
Under the new law, they face harsher penalties, including potential jail time of up to 30 days and fines ranging from $500 to $1,000.
