Governor Appoints New Member, Reappoints non-confirmed Appointee to UWF Board of Trustees

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Governor Ron DeSantis made a new appointment to UWF's Board of Trustees, and reappointed Adam Kissel to the board last week. The Governor appointed attorney Edward Fleming to the board -- he's a founding partner at the McDonald-Fleming law firm which serves Pensacola, is a Commissioner on the First District Court of Appeals Judicial Nominating Commission, which spans from Escambia County all the way through the Panhandle to Baker County and serves on the Pensacola State College Board of Trustees. Kissel was first appointed to the Board of Trustees in January and was not confirmed by two Senate committees or the full senate during his confirmation hearings. Kissel's affiliation with the Heritage Foundation and stances on issues like the GI bill and privatization of public universities proved to controversial issues during the hearings.
