Frontier Ending Copper Landline Service Across North Escambia Communities

Frontier Communications is phasing out traditional copper-based landline phone service in several Northwest Florida communities, including Walnut Hill, Molino, and Bratt, as well as parts of Alabama near Atmore.

The telecommunications company has already secured FCC approval for the service discontinuation in Alabama. A similar application to retire legacy telephone infrastructure in Frontier's Florida service area is moving through the federal approval process.

Residents and businesses still relying on Frontier's copper landlines in these areas will need to transition to alternative phone services. Frontier has been gradually shifting customers toward fiber-optic and digital alternatives as part of a broader industry trend away from aging copper infrastructure. Customers affected by the change should contact Frontier directly to explore available service options in their area.
