Escambia County is offering free sand to residents in flood-prone areas as tropical weather threatens the Northwest Florida coast. The sand is available on a first-come, first-served basis around the clock at multiple county locations, including Don Sutton Park in Molino at 2320 Crabtree Church Road. County officials say residents can pick up sandbags or bulk sand to help protect their properties ahead of potential storms.
