Former Escambia Teacher Convicted of Sex Crimes

A former Escambia County middle school teacher has been found guilty of sex crimes involving a student. 63-year-old Winston Foster was convicted last week on charges of lewd and lascivious battery and unlawful activity with certain minors. He could now face up to 60 years in prison. Foster was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student at his home, and at the school in a supply closet. The relationship lasted from the time the student was 15, until she turned 17. Foster was arrested in February 2023. He was let go from the school district at the time of his arrest. A sentencing was scheduled for August, but an exact date has not been set.
