Tallahassee, FL -- Florida Senate leaders say the rollout of the proposed 2026-2027 budget is being pushed back by a week as they wait on the House. Senate Appropriations Chairman Ed Hooper says the Senate now plans to introduce its spending plan February 12th, with floor debate expected February 18th. He says lawmakers want to stick to the tradition of both chambers unveiling budgets the same week. Leaders in both chambers say communication is improving after last year’s lengthy budget standoff, even as revenue growth projections remain modest.
