Florida school districts are being urged to review books and other student materials under a new 90-day plan from the state Department of Education.
The department says the goal is to identify sexually explicit or inappropriate content and ensure materials comply with Florida law and are appropriate for students’ grade levels.
The recommendations include school-level audits and giving parents greater ability to review materials available to their children.
