Florida's First-Time Jobless Claims Jump

(Washington, DC) -- The number of people filing first-time claims for unemployment is going up in Florida. The U.S. Labor Department says for the week ending December 6th, there were over 58-hundred initial claims for jobless benefits. That's an increase of nearly 21-hundred filings from the previous week. Nationally, the number of initial filings jumped by about 44-thousand to 236-thousand.
