First Anniversary of Hurricane Helene

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Today marks one year since Hurricane Helene hit North Florida. The Category Four storm made landfall in Taylor County near Perry on this date last year. The Big Bend and parts of the Panhandle sustained widespread power outages, flooding and tree damage. The National Weather Service says Helene brought widespread, catastrophic storm surge that measured above 15 feet.
