ESCAMBIA SCHOOLS LAUNCHING "OPENGATE" WEAPON DETECTION AT MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS

After the Escambia School District bought 25 OPENGATE metal detectors in October, they've finally arrived and are ready to be used. Yesterday, the district announced that all middle and high schools will begin random screenings of students. Director of Protection Services Kyle Kinser says they'll likely buy more in the future. Because of how mobile and easy they are to put together, OPENGATE will also be used at school board meetings and extracurricular events too.
