Escambia Fire Rescue Says Enjoy Cookouts, but Grill Safely

ESCAMBIA COUNTY FIRE RESCUE URGING GRILLING SAFETY

Many folks might be celebrating Independence Day with a family cookout -- and Escambia Fire Rescue is asking people to be careful. Firefighters say there have been multiple recent incidents involving injuries from grilling or flammable liquids. Nationwide gas grills cause thousands of fires each year. Many of them are caused by dirty grills that cause grease fires, or over-using grill lighter fluid. Firefighters say you should check your propane tanks and hoses, keep your grill clean, and make sure it's not too close to the exterior wall of your home.
