Escambia Deputies Investigating After Century Man Shot in Bedroom

Century, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An investigation is underway after a man was shot in his home in Century early this morning....

"We had a guy that reports that he woke up and someone was in his house and that individual shot him twice," said Sheriff Chip Simmons.

The victim reported that he was sleeping at the time, when he woke up and someone shot him. He said he didn't see the shooter, lived alone, and didn't have any roommates. The victim was hit in the arm and face. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

There's no word on possible suspects at this point. Sheriff Simmons says random acts of violence are incredibly rare, and he says they are looking into why a suspect would choose that particular house and whether it may be someone known to the victim.
