Escambia County Honors Longtime Employee's Retirement, Recognizes Employee Of The Month

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- Escambia County commissioners honored two employees at last night's meeting. Sheila Knight, a custodial worker who has served the county for more than 33 years, was recognized for her retirement, with commissioners and coworkers praising her dedication and positive impact on everyone she's worked with over the decades. Commissioner Lumon May offered personal remarks, crediting Knight's advice and support as part of what inspired him to run for office. Separately, commissioners recognized Robert Carlin, the county's Information Security Officer, as Employee of the Month for August. Carlin, who joined the county in 2021, has been credited with modernizing Escambia County's cybersecurity program and helping the county achieve security benchmarks well above the national average.
