Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The Escambia Board of Commissioners has decided on a developer for OLF 8. They voted to move forward with negotiations with Fred Hemmer and Beaulah Town Center LLC's, who offered $50-million dollars for the entire 540 acres of the OLF 8 property.... but they initially shot that deal down and tried to get a bigger offer from competing developer Tri-W.
Eventually negotiations with Tri-W fell apart and Chad Henderson and former Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward rescinded their group's offer.
The Board of County Commissioners then went back and unanimously approved Beaulah Town Center's offer. They'll have 30 days to hammer out a deal using the DPZ master plan as a restrictive deed for the property.
